Silk Faw Automotive Group New Headquarters and Production
The Silk-Faw campus layout proposal interprets the articulated functional program in a series of spaces specific ones held together by paths and common spaces endowed with great clarity, and therefore capable of generating always a strong sense of orientation for employees e visitors.
As a city is structured on a “network of public spaces”(streets, squares, boulevards, gardens), a building “fabric” which is divided into one series of “rooms”, so the Silk-Faw complex is articulated in different spatial gradients between places with a more collective vocation to spaces with a specific function. An “environmental” sensitivity rather than “figurative” animates the design of all these scales.
The elements that shape the new “Greenbow”of Silk-Faw are few and easily understood: a large screen that embraces the front of the complex facing south-west towards the railway, the motorway and the viaduct that spans it, which acts as an element of mediation with the more geographical dimension of the project, cut by a long low arch which identifies the entrance to the various parts of the complex and creates a welcoming space; behind it, a large continuous atrium lit by circular patios and skylights that connect all the indoor function which are not related to the production. The workshops are connected by a glazed and suspended shaped gallery.
