Joia Méridia Mixed Use Quarter
The building arise within the new “Joia Méridia” area in the city of Nice. The district focuses on the organization of mixed-use programs around public spaces and aims to create an attractive and animated typological variety area with the construction of residential units, retail, offices and a hotel. The buildings were entrusted to different architects including the Japanese Sou Fujimoto and the French architect Laisné Roussel.
The new district is organized on network squares: on the North, The Metropolitan Square is defined by a number of high-rise buildings where stand the mixed-use building by CZA. While proceeding through the center of the area, the height of the buildings steps down until it reaches the central Meridia Plaza, a reinterpretation of the traditional Mediterranean square, which is defined by the volume and disposition of the buildings.
