Residential buildings in via Pestalozzi
This project can be considered part of the Reforming Milan process that is taking place in recent years. The residential building complex is in a long-abandoned private school lot. The long and narrow lot, oriented along the North-South axe, made the design research for orientation, according to sunlight exposure and views, a very important part of the project process.
The complex consists of three buildings: while the first, the only one with an urban facade, is located along via Pestalozzi, the others define a sequence of courtyards that cross the block towards its “heart”. The typological connection to the ground defines a clear relationship with the city history while represent a filter between the private dimension and the public spaces. In relation to orientations and typological dispositions each façade presents slightly different features balanced by the common palette.
