Garibaldi Repubblica area
East Residential Block

(closed competition – first prize)
Italy, Milan – 2006

The project is the development of a portion of Cesar Pelli’s master plan which is the completion of the nineteenth-hundred fabric to the south of the large Garibaldi-Repubblica void.

Two linear slabs bend in to define a green courtyard which reinterprets in a contemporary way the historic type of the perimeter block. The different qualities of the views on the city generate a series of inflections and architectural accents which underline the qualities of urban living.
